Bridging Winnipeg's young leaders with future success

History

header-about

In 2013, the Young Associates celebrated our 20th anniversary of supporting business education in Manitoba.

The Young Associates is affiliated with the prestigious Associates Programme, which was formed in the early 1980s by Dean of the University of Manitoba Faculty of Management, Roland Granpre, along with two prominent business leaders, Jack Fraser and Arni Thorsteinson. They recognized the potential in establishing a secure connection between the business school and the business community as a whole. From this idea, it has grown to over two hundred corporate leaders that make up The Associates today. With their success and their commitment to excellence in business education, the Young Associates was formed in 1993 to provide the same network for ideas, experience and education offered by the Associates, but catered to meet the needs of the younger business community. Over the years, the Young Associates membership has grown steadily from the founding group of 17 to more than 160 members. Along with their growth in membership, the Young Associates have also continued to develop improved opportunities in professional development for the business leaders of tomorrow by gaining a wealth of experience from today’s leaders and entrepreneurs.
